Not too many updates to my EDC except now it’s in VIDEO form! zomg!

Huge update to my tech bag. For starters, I’m starting to refer to it as a tech bag, rather than a go bag, b/c I started a YouTube channel and Go Bag means something different outside of this blog. On top of that, everything except the laptop & iPad have changed!
My EDC has changed quite a lot since the last time I posted over a year ago. New phone, new knife, new KEYS. Basically the only stuff that’s the same is my wallet, pen, and ever present EFF sticker on the back of whatever phone I’m carrying.
Pretty much immediately after posting in March, I started swapping bags fairly frequently; between my Powerbag, a backpack, and eventually to my original Timbuk2 Commute. Because of that, I ended up pairing down a lot. It was too much of a pain in the butt to move everything I had been carrying.
I changed a bunch of stuff about my daily Go Bag (what I take to work every day). So I figured it was time for an update. The biggest change is that I swapped out my Timbuk2 bag for a Powerbag. The Powerbag has a built-in battery pack for charging mobile devices. I added this, because I built a LibraryBox, and the Powerbag can power the LibraryBox. I also got a new laptop; trading in my Macbook Air for a Thinkpad. It’s great to be running Linux again.
I obsess about the stuff I carry on my person even more than the stuff I carry around in my bag. This is what I currently carry.
You can see older iterations here, if there are any.
I obsess about stuff, what I carry around every day, and also what I carry when I travel. The goal is to carry as little stuff and weight as possible, but without losing any of the amenities of home.
About a year and a half ago, a real loud-mouth got hired at my job and sat right behind me. I bought a box of earplugs at the pharmacy near the office, and started using them heavily. Then I started wishing I had them on-hand more often.
A few days ago I posted my Home workspace. Here is my Work workspace:
LifeHacker started a Flickr pool dedicated to readers posting their workspaces. Like the Go-Bag pool, I decided to participate. So here’s my desk:
