I missed an album Saturday because I spent the whole day doing home improvements with my brother’s help. Yesterday, the project continued and we didn’t wrap it up until around 9 PM. After that much work I was totally spent, but I listened to Wilco – Schmilco anyway.
I reallyΒ enjoyed the album but in a way I’m having a bit of a hard time describing. The songs were OK, but most of them weren’t really anything to write home about. There weren’t really any singles or stand-outs; at least not until maybe the tail end. If I happened upon any of these tracks on the radio, I wouldn’t stop scanning to listen and I don’t know if I’d recognize them as being from the album or as Wilco songs.
But theΒ tone of the album was great and perfectly fitting for the time at which I listened to it. It was relaxed and pleasant and I really enjoyed the experience. I’d definitely listen to it again.
