I said I was done with Electronic music for a while and I intended to be. I’ve gotten some recommendations through the Suggest an AlbumΒ form from a few people, but by and large I use it the most to send myself reminders. I didn’t have any idea what I wanted to listen to today, so I started poking through the emails that form has sent me and I landed on Fever Ray. I had heard the first song about 20 times because it’s the opening song to the History Channel’s show Vikings. And I saw the video once because I wanted to actually hear the whole song. Damn the video is weird.
At any rate, based only on that first song I wouldn’t have classified it as Electronic. I don’t knowΒ what I would have classified it as. Anyway, aside from the first track I wasn’t really all that impressed with this album. The style of the first track doesn’t really match many of the songs except Concrete Walls, which I liked, and another one that now I don’t remember — maybeΒ Dry and Dusty? I probably won’t come back to this album, but I’d definitely listen toΒ If I Had A Heart again.
