It’s only the second day and I’m cheating a little bit by talking about an EP. I intend to eventually build up a bit of a buffer so I’m not scrambling at 10 o’clock at night again. But for what it’s worth, I always intended to include as much Too Many Zooz as I could on this list, because I love this band.

While listening to their music at the New Years Eve party I was at, we discussed the fact that this is the only band I’ve ever literally stumbled upon. To kill time at work one day, I was on Laughing Squid’s Tumblr and found a YouTube video of Too Many Zooz. After I listened to it and sent it to everyone I could think of, Adrian mentioned that he thought he had heard these guys busking in the Union Square subway station near our office. As soon as he said that it dawned on me that I had seen them too! And it wasn’t long before I saw them again. It didn’t happen often, but any time I found them in the subway, I’d stop to listen and give them any cash I had.

I love this album, and I listen to it pretty regularly. Every track is really great. The only bad thing I can even think to say is that the last song loses it a little towards the middle, but I’m pretty sure it’s a cover so it’s hard to even blame them for that. The drums leave a little to be desired too but I think that’s mostly because it’s so cowbell heavy. Though that’s easily forgivable if you consider the fact that he’s gotta haul his kit through NYC subway trains and tunnels. You can see what I’m talking about here:
